SEATTLE, WA – Looking back at 2022 I had a blast out on the road car camping. The nice thing about car camping is that you can get into some locations, that you normally wouldn’t get a chance to visit in an RV.

Right now I’m going to take you through 5 of my favorite car camping spots in 2022. If you click on the individual park locations, each video will give you a full look at my time spent there.

In addition to the videos of the trip, I’ll include the website links that have the full breakdowns of the parks and the cost for staying there.

So many great spots this year and even more to come in 2023, but before we can look forward, let’s look back at the past.  Here now are your, “Top 5 Car Camping Trips of 2022”:

#5… Dosewallips State Park…

BRINNON, WA – Leaving Seattle for a new state park has me heading to Brinnon Washington. I didn’t take a ferry, so the drive to Brinnon took way longer than I had hoped for.

But that being the case, the drive to Dosewallips State Park, was a very beautiful one as I got closer to the park and if you had the time, spending time near the water leading into the park could be really fun….

#4… Penrose Point State Park…

LAKEBAY, WA – Starting to really get out there and explore some cool state parks and this time out is no different. For this trip, I headed out to Lakebay Washington and Penrose Point State Park.

This is a beautiful mix of location, hiking, water it has a little bit of everything for sure….

#3… Tolt MacDonald Park & Campground…

CARNATION, WA – My RV is out of commission for the foreseeable future.  And that means I could give up and take the next several months off until I figure out what happens next with the RV or I can do what I’ve decided to do and that is to get out there and embrace car camping!…

#2… Bay View State Park…

BAY VIEW, WA – Getting out of town for another cool car camping experience is always exciting and for me, this trip is extra special because it’s my first trip to a Washington State, State Park.

I’ve spent a lot of time at state parks in my RVing/Car Camping lifetime. From Florida to Georgia to Wisconsin, I’ve really enjoyed spending time in a good state park, so exploring my first park in Washington this summer is exciting….

#1… Joemma Beach State Park…

LAKEBAY, WA – Awhile back I hit up Penrose Point State Park and had a really good time. After Penrose Point, I did something I had never done before and that’s head to another state park, but this time without having a reservation.

Right down the road from Penrose Point State Park, is Joemma Beach State Park, also in Lakebay Washington and you can’t reserve a spot online, you have to show up, see if there is a spot and stay. …
