LAKEBAY, WA – Starting to really get out there and explore some cool state parks and this time out is no different. For this trip, I headed out to Lakebay Washington and Penrose Point State Park.
This is a beautiful mix of location, hiking, water it has a little bit of everything for sure.
Just outside of Seattle, Penrose Point State Park is definitely a place you want to put on your list of places to camp at in ANY kind of vehicle.
Here’s the 411 on the trip:
- I stayed there 2 nights, and after taxes it worked out to be $36.00 per night
- I stayed in site #10… There are a lot of mature growth trees, but not a lot of separation between sites
- Cell service was strong for me in the area. I have AT&T.
- The facilities at the park, had bathrooms and then a bathhouse with showers that were all pretty clean
- I booked online through the Washington State Park website.
According the website:
“A bald eagle sits on a seaweed-covered rock while kids peer into the glassy waters of Mayo Cove, pointing out sea stars and crabs. Welcome to life at Penrose Point State Park.Penrose Point State Park is a richly forested, 237-acre marine and camping park on the shores of Puget Sound. The park has nearly 2 miles of saltwater frontage on Mayo Cove and Carr Inlet.”
For my second Washington State Park, Penrose Point State Park was a fun journey and a spot I could easily see myself returning to!

Don’t forget I’m posting new videos EVERY Sunday!
