LAKEBAY, WA – One of the things that is so hard for me when it comes to car camping is actually getting out on the road. It always takes me so long to leave, even if I work just a half day.
Part of the issue, making sure I pack my car right. How you lay out your car and get things into it, is critical. I feel like this is still a work in process, I’m trying to get better at it, but don’t know if I’ll ever fully get there
Once I hit the road, especially here in Seattle, I have to remain patient because there is a ton of traffic. I’ve tried leaving at a couple of different time points, but it’s still an issue. I haven’t found the sweet spot yet for leaving for a weekend trip but I will keep tinkering until I get it right.
The one thing I do enjoy is that moment when you get through the initial surge of traffic and hit the “magic” point in the drive when you are away from the city and the traffic and you know you’re getting closer to your campsite and closer to settling in for your time away and to a cool car camping experience.
