BRINNON, WA – Leaving Seattle for a new state park has me heading to Brinnon Washington. I didn’t take a ferry, so the drive to Brinnon took way longer than I had hoped for.
But that being the case, the drive to Dosewallips State Park, was a very beautiful one as I got closer to the park and if you had the time, spending time near the water leading into the park could be really fun.
As I reached the park, it was clearly worth it. Another great spot to car camp, RV, and just camp in general.
Here’s the 411 on the trip:
- I stayed there 2 nights and after taxes it worked out to be $36.00 per night
- I stayed in site #109… A really cool site There are a lot of mature growth trees and you feel tucked away. The restrooms are not too far away.
- Cell service was good for me in the area. I have AT&T.
- The facilities: 37 tent spaces, 58 utility sites, twelve cabins, one dump station, four restrooms (one ADA), and two showers
- I was easily able to book my reservation online
According the website:
“Dosewallips State Park, only 60 miles north of Olympia, is the eastern gateway to the Olympic Peninsula. The region is made up of forests, mountains, rivers, beaches and deltas – and surrounded by sound and sea. This freshwater/saltwater park makes a perfect day or weekend trip. It can also serve as a base from which to explore the historic forts and charming small towns to the north, or the first night on a grand road trip around the peninsula. ”
A great park to camp, hike and explore at!
