WAUPACA, WI – RV propane problems can be very dangerous. There are a lot of things I can do in my rig and a lot that I’m willing to do, but playing around with propane is not one of them. I make sure all of my alarms are set and I did put in a new propane sensor awhile back, so I know when something goes off, I had better watch out.

At Hartman Creek State Park in Waupaca Wisconsin, my alarm started to go off one morning and I knew something was up. I really couldn’t smell anything, however resetting it and opening up the windows didn’t really stop it.

So eventually I ended up shutting down the whole system, continued to read up on the problem and look at YouTube videos left and right to find out what the cause of everything might have been.

Later in the day, I went through my system again and very carefully tried the stove and that seemed to be the issue. In the morning I cooked breakfast and had an issue with the back right burner. It didn’t click over. When I turned on the stove later in the day after turning on the propane again, there was a little burst of propane from that burner and then after that, everything seem to work fine.

Clearly I have to take my rig to a professional to go through the system and I will. When I shut her down for the year I will also turn off the propane. Again this is something you really don’t want to mess with unless you know what you are doing or are a professional.

So just a little drama on the road. Thank goodness I didn’t blow up my rig, however I want to share everything with you when it comes to RVing the good and the bad, so I’m sharing this little bit of drama.
What’s the last bit of drama you’ve had in your RV?
