BUXTON, OR – Sometimes you have to push yourself outside of your comfort zone to explore new places and that’s exactly what I did this time out, heading South to Oregon and L.L. Stub Stewart Memorial State Park.”

  • I stayed in site 86 In the Dairy Creek East loop and it was a back in site with full hookups
  • I did have cell service. I have AT&T.
  • The facilities:

  • 12 walk-in tent sites with parking and water nearby
  • Playground (east loop)
  • 3-hole beginner disc-golf course
  • Flush toilets

  • Universal Access: 3 sites at Dairy Creek West, 2 sites at Dairy Creek East and 13 cabins are accessible to campers with disabilities.

According the website:

“Just 34 miles west of Portland is the best backyard imaginable. Set on a forested hillside, Stub Stewart State Park offers a variety of camping opportunities and boundless trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Whatever your preference, Stub Stewart has a campsite that fits your style. The Dairy Creek Campground offers a typical camping experience with both full hook-up sites and non-hookup tent sites to choose from, each with fire ring and picnic table. Our rustic cabins provide a bit more comfort, with four walls, electricity and heat. We even have hike-in sites for a more primitive experience.”
