SEATTLE, WA – Time to add some gear to help make car camping even better. Back in September, my family gave me a couple of gift cards to REI. Hadn’t really shopped there before, so this was a really cool experience for me.
When I went to the store, here in Seattle, I was looking for a couple of things:
- A smaller cooking stove for quick trips on the road
- A sleeping bag
- And possibly some new hiking boots.
Now, I originally picked up a Jetboil “Flash” stove and I thought that would be the ticket. I had done a lot of research early, but after I made the purchase, I went online again to look at some recipes and everything I saw, folks were using a Jetboil “MiniMo,” so a couple of days after, I went back to REI and switched it out.
I also picked up some cutlery for the stove and some fuel.
Next, I had looked online and REI had a sale on some hiking boots and I need some new ones, so I tried to pick up those. However the ones they had online were only in a certain color and they didn’t have my size, so I didn’t pick those up
The last thing I DID pick up, that I wanted was a sleeping bag. I had saved one that I liked from the REI website, but when I tried it out in the store, it was a little tight. So I switched out and ended up going with a North Face sleeping bag and I fit in it.
It was a successful trip all in all. I can’t wait to try out some of the new items. Bellow, is a link to everything I picked up in case YOU may be in need of some new gear!
