MENOMINEE, MI – Yep, I’m leaving Wisconsin to RV in Michigan… Well that IS the truth, only the drive to Michigan from Green Bay was only about 45 minutes to an hour, so while I DID leave the state, it’s not the furthest place I’ve been from home here in Wisconsin since I arrived here two years ago.

The drive up to Michigan was pretty straight forward and as I got into Marinette Wisconsin and into downtown Menominee Michigan, you could see some really nice architecture downtown right along the Menominee River.

“River Park Campground” is a wonderful place to stay. Getting to the actual park, you go through a “dead mall” area and then in the back of the mall, next to but not in the waster water plant, is the park.
A small park, just about 54 sites, this is really a gem on the river. They have daily, weekly and monthly rates. Full hook-ups and even a couple of spots in addition to the 54 that are just pure electric.
Durning my hike, you know I love to hike, I discovered a fantastic, small museum in the downtown area. The “Menominee Heritage Museum” is free to visit. They ask for a donation if you tour it and it’s worth dropping in a couple of bucks to support the museum and learn about the area.
As for my stay, here’s the deal:
- I stayed there 2 nights… Bring cash or checks, they do not accept credit cards and my total cost was about $75.00
- I stayed in site #15… It was easy to get into, a pull through with full hook-ups
- Cell service was strong for me in the area. I have AT&T.
- There are about 54 overall sites to park an additional 4 electric only and some overflow spots
- I there is a dump station for guests
- According the park brochure:
“Seasonal campers are welcome, but we do limit the number. Riverfront sites are available and can accommodate boat docking in the canal. See below for the many different amenities and recreational activities that make River Park Campground such an enjoyable stay!”
