STANWOOD, WA – One of my “things” if you will, when it comes to RVing is when I want to get away and find someplace to stay that hopefully not a lot of folks have thought about, I look for County Parks. I’ve had some of the best RVing at County parks of the years and here in Washington, I haven’t been let down yet.
So this time out, we’re checking out another Snohomish County park, this one though is hard to get into, but I managed because it’s Fall time.
We’re heading off to “Kayak Point Regional County Park.”
Here’s the 411 on the trip:
- 2-nights, after taxes it worked out to be $92.00 dollars or $46.00 per night
- I stayed in site 12, it was a back in site with water and electric and it was uneven so bring your leveling blocks
- I did have cell service. I have AT&T.
- The facilities:
- 30 partial-utility (water/power)
- 10 Yurts
- Drop-in camping is allowed for sites that have not been reserved and the first night can be purchased at the park entrance fee machine.
- I was easily able to book my reservation online at: https://snoco.usedirect.com/snohomishweb/
According the website:
“A spectacular saltwater beach park located along the shores of picturesque Port Susan. From its 3,300 feet shoreline to its evergreen forests, Kayak Point Park offers a beautiful setting for pier fishing, windsurfing, picnicking, hiking, camping, boat launching and more. In the day-use area, there are picnic shelters with an ocean view, beachside firepits, a playground (closed during Phase 1 construction), miles of beach to explore, a pier and restrooms. The pier (closed during Phase 1 construction) extends 300 feet into Puget Sound and is a popular site for crabbing and fishing. At high tide, the water depth is 50 feet off the pier’s end.”
