STANWOOD, WA – What I have found is there are hidden gems at local county parks all over. When I plan an RV trip, in addition to looking at State Parks, I always, always look for county parks, because I’ve found some of the best RVing at county parks. A lot of folks don’t really look for them and I’m here to tell you don’t sleep on a good park.
So with that in mind, I ventured out to hit up a new county park for me, Wenberg County Park in Stanwood and while the weather wasn’t great, the park was.
Here’s the 411 on the trip:
- 2-nights, after taxes it worked out to be $92 dollars or $46.00 per night
- I stayed in site 15 and had water and electric
- Cell service was strong. I have AT&T.
- The facilities: 45 acres, you’ll discover a 70-site campground, three picnic shelters, an enclosed swim beach with rinse shower, and 1,140 feet of freshwater shoreline with a two-lane concrete boat launch for your toys. The day-use area restroom is closed and winterized November-March.

“Located on the eastern shore of Lake Goodwin, this award-winning park offers splendid opportunities for picnicking, sunbathing, boating, and camping. Management of the park was transferred to Snohomish County from the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission on July 16, 2009, in an effort to keep state parks open and available to residents and visitors while responding to state budget reductions.”
