BALLARD, WA – I’ve owned my “New-2-Me-RV” A 2018 Winnebago Travato 59g for a couple of months now. I’m still in the “settling in phase,” and figuring out what I need for me in the new rig.
One of the things I’ve noticed so far is that I don’t seem to have an accurate reading when it comes to my propane tank. I feel like the One Place system in my 2018 Travato doesn’t keep an accurate reading for the levels.
So recently I went online to the Travato Owners and Wannabee’s group and just did a search on propane issues and a ton of folks said that the One Place didn’t give good readings on so I should look into a propane tank monitor and that’s what I’ve done.
The monitor most folks talked about was one made by Mopeka. I ordered it on Amazon and did the install myself. It wasn’t that hard to do, but you want to make sure to really read the instructions.
In addition to the monitor, which stays on your tank by a magnet, I picked up a cover for the monitor by Alien Enterprise.
All in all the Mod took me about 20-30 minutes to do and that includes downloading the AP, connecting it with my phone and checking it again.
I’m going to monitor how the sensor does over the next couple of months and I’ll report back, probably in the Fall sometime. Right now, I think it’s a good add-on to the RV, the first of many to come.
