TACOMA, WA – When you live in Seattle it rains and it can’t stop you from doing what you’re doing. This week, after seeing an ad online for a rig in Tacoma, I thought I’d get up early, hit the road and check it out.

Now, before I headed South, I stopped by one of my favorite breakfast spots in all of Seattle, The Mecca Cafe and as usual they did not disappoint.

Filled up, it was off to see a possible, “New-2-Me-RV” in Tacoma, which is about 45 minutes from where I live, although with the wet weather, it was just a little longer.

Recently, I’ve been taking you on some tours of Class B RVs and really like them. My friend Janet let me check out her Travato and my friends Sheryl & Melissa gave me a tour of their Coachman Beyond.  Both rigs were amazing

Now, as I mentioned earlier, I saw this RV online at Sabeti Motors.  Sabeti, normally focuses on used cars, but they recently picked up an RV on their lot that they were trying to sell, a 2005 Tioga by Fleetwood, 26Q.

I toured the rig and the previous owners had done a couple of “mods” that weren’t my favorite. They built cabinets in the over cab bunk and they added some solar on top, but not a lot. For the most part the inside of the rig was decent and there was no delamination on the outside.  The one area that DID concern me a lot was roof.

When I looked at the roof, to me it was clear that they were going to need to put on an entire new roof. I have some experience with bad roofs, so for me this was a red flag.  What experience you ask?

At the same lot there was a 2016 Class B Winnebago Travato, however I thought the price they wanted for it was too high for my taste, so I passed really negotiating on it.

All in all for me this just wasn’t the right rig, so the search continues. What’s that expression? “You have to kiss a lot of frogs first…”. Well, that’s kind of how I feel, however getting to see what you like and don’t like, up close and personal is oh so important.
