BROWN COUNTY, WI – Why RVing at a County Park Can Be Fun! Well, one reason is because a good county park can be just like a good State Park. When I got done RV Camping Potawatomi State Park Sturgeon Bay Door County Wisconsin, I headed South to check out a really cool county run RV Park and had a really good time.
Bay Shore Park Campground is just North of Green Bay and a perfect stop on the way back or up to Door County Wisconsin. I wanted to see the difference between a State Park & County Park up close and personal. Some of the best RVing I had in Florida and Georgia were at County run facilities. They sometimes are cheaper than other spots and depending on the campground, generally kept in really good condition.
For me, Potawatomi State Park, was ms my first real RV camping in Wisconsin. Located in Sturgeon Bay in Door County, it really hit the spot.
For this stop, I checked around and read some pretty good things about it, so I said why not check it out?

As for the Rving basics and I like to do this for every park I stay at:
- I stayed there 2 nights, where after taxes it worked out to be $32 per night
- I stayed in site #40 and it was a really good location. Paved, near a bath house if you needed it. The inside of the park has paved spots, on the outside portion of the park there are some spots, however they are extremely tight to get into and you might not be able to. The middle of the campground is really where you want to be
- Cell service was really good for me in the area. I have AT&T and two Hotspots, Verizon and StraightTalk and I was able to do a little work, just using my AT & T phone HotSpot
- When I stayed there, it was in the end of the week and the park was pretty packed. During the day it was not so bad, however at the end of the day, the park always picked up and more overnight folks showed up.
- There is a lot of great hiking, especially down to the boat ramp area, although the paths are narrow and on the edge of a little cliff
- I booked online through the website and then checked in once I arrived. There are Camp hosts in the park if you need them
- According the Brown County Bay Shore Park Site:
“We have approximately 110 wooded campsites situated atop the Niagra Escarpment; 90 sites with water and electric hookups, 18 sites with no hookups and 2 group campsites (one with and one without hookups). All sites have asphalt pads, fire rings, and picnic tables. Bay Shore can accommodate travel trailers of all sizes. Amenities include shower facilities, a dump station, firewood, ice, laundry, boat launch, Jump Pillow (hours vary), playground, a set of concrete cornhole boards, and hiking & biking trails on the property. Free WIFI available near ship themed playground and park pavilion.”
